Applying to the University Honors Program
Freshman Honors Program (FHP) (incoming students)
1. Applications are mailed out from the Admissions Office (to those eligible)
Eligibility is determined from:
English ACT score -and-
1 of the following:
ACT Composite
Top 5% of Graduation Class
Nat’l Merit or Achievement Finalist
2. Return &/or Mail Application to:
Univ. Honors Program
2130 Jischke Honors Bldg.
Ames, Iowa 50011-1150
3. Approval/Denial will be mailed out within 3 weeks
4. Orientation Info. mailed out (for June sessions)
5. Fall Semester, will complete Courses:
HON 121 Seminar
English 250H
Library 160
6. Spring Semester, submit ‘Member Application’ to remain & graduate with Honors
Member (current students)
1.Application on-line* Due Feb. 8, 2008 for Early Registration and Honors Housing
Eligibility is determined from:
Minimum of 48 Credits Left
Program of Study (if under 60 credits left)
Meet ‘Good Standing’ Requirements
2. Return &/or Mail Application to:

3. Approval/Denial will be mailed out within 3 weeks
4. College will contact via. e-mail
5. Review Graduation Requirements
6. Submit ‘Program of Study’ form, to college
7. Submit ‘Project Proposal’ form, to college
8. Present Project Poster (information mailed prior to event)
9. Receive Honors Cords & Certificate, from college or Honors Admin.
** Re-Apply when Changing Colleges.
