Students transferring to ISU from another post-secondary institution are eligible to participate in the Iowa State University Honors Program. The level of your participation in the Honors program will depend on how much post-secondary schooling you complete before coming to Iowa State. All transfer applicants must have a transfer GPA of 3.5 or above, have at least 60 credits remaining before graduation, and must complete a University Honors Transfer Application.
If you have completed less than a year of coursework before coming to Iowa State and enter Iowa State during the fall semester, you may apply for the First-Year Honors Program. The requirements for admission are the same as those for students entering directly from high school.
If you have completed at a year or more of coursework with a GPA of at least 3.5 before coming to Iowa State, you may apply to the University Honors Program with the University Honors Transfer Application.
You will be notified of your application’s status via e-mail. If accepted, you will need to attend your College Information Session and complete your Program of Study in your first semester at ISU.
