Honors Salons

Honors Salon

What: In the 17th and 18th centuries, a “salon” was an occasion for thinking folks to get together and discuss art, politics, philosophy, and other topics of interest. In Honors, salons are held twice a month on Friday afternoons. Topics are introduced by an expert in the field and then opened for discussion.

Who/When: Any and all Honors students are encouraged to attend!

Where: Jischke Honors Building Lounge

Why: Because learning is fun, and it’s even more fun when it’s informal and with your friends (and punctuated with free popcorn). Think of Salons as a miniature Honors seminar or TED-like talk.
Come together with other Honors students and learn about the biology of beer, the mathematics of juggling, asteroid deflection, symbolism in Harry Potter, the truths about zombies, completing triathlons and a lot of other interesting things.
